How to Use Applesauce In Three Ways

The autumnal season and I have been in love for quite some time. I have a penchant for the pumpkin, apple, and cinnamon flavors. With the fall, comes delicious and fresh applesauce, and after having so much in my house, I wanted to come up with unique ways to use it. Here are three new ways you might not have thought of.

As a glaze:

I was a little turned off by flavored apple sauces. But I opted to get Mango Peach flavor instead, and combined it with some fresh apples, a splash of water, and a little bit of Peach balsamic. Put it in a pot and let it simmer until it's got a gravy-like consistency. Put it over chicken or pork chops. So tasty!

As a dessert:

Get some crescent rolls and place two together to make a square. Crumble some graham crackers in the center. Mix together the Mango Peach applesauce and some whipped cream cheese. Put the mixture on top of the graham crackers. Fold up the crescent rolls and back according to the package. You've got a delicious filled pop-over type dessert in minutes. These are crunchy and fruity and fun for the kids to help you make.

As a snack/breakfast:

In a blender, mix 1 cup of applesauce, 2 graham crackers, ice, 1 cup of yogurt, a dash of cinnamon, and a banana. This smoothie will be sweet like apple pie and give you energy until lunch. Yum!
