After an exciting couple of days checking out the movies Brave, People Like Us and Frankenweenie (more on the one soon), our Brave Cars Land group headed to Anheim for two days of fun at Disneyland. Having never been to Disneyland I was really excited to check out the attractions - and specifically Cars Land, a replica of Radiator Springs based on the popular Disney/Pixar movie, Cars.
As our groups first Disneyland experience, we had the chance to check out was the Radiator Springs Racers, a family attraction showcasing characters and settings from the film as the cars race around the track and get to the fictional finish line.
Getting ready to ride with Thrifty Jinxy
Having never been to Disneyland before I was excited to check out this ride that is said to feature "a twisting turning, high-speed adventure through Ornament Valley and the town of Radiator Springs" that started by sitting in a replica car based on some of the actual characters from the movie. Kids of all ages were lined up to experience this fast-speed car ride while also taking in the unique sights from the movie.
This started out easy as we rode around a replica of Radiator Springs looking around through a tour of Ornament Valley that included familiar faces like Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sally, Luigi, Guido, Mack, Ramone and Doc Hudson.
The speed quickly picked up as the car raced through Luigi's Casa Della Tires where my group zoomed around on this thrilling attraction - screaming and cheering at the same time.
There were more hills and bumps as the car zipped around in this amazing set featuring craftsmanship inspired by the iconic Cadillac Ranch public art installation located along Route 66 as well as the ingenuity to this fun-family film.
Over in a few minutes, I loved looking at the amazing craftsmanship of the rides and set and taking in the many levels of this thrilling character ride that families will love this summer.
So what about the lines? Well, there is no avoiding the wait. We had a fast pass and waited about an hour with a 240-minute wait (approximate) for the regular line. Bring water and snacks and try to go as early as possible to beat the lines. Also, those that are staying the Disneyland Resorts can get to the park an hour early on some days - making this ride an ideal stop during your experience in Disneyland.
