Every year, I feel like I'm at a loss at how to celebrate friends' birthdays. Treating them to dinner is always fine, but I want them to feel loved and really know that I put thought into their special day. If you have the same struggles, here's a party idea that will help get your creative juices flowing----just like the cocktails.
I am one of those people who LOVE to craft. It's almost an obsession. I see things and think, "Oh wow, I could make that!" instead of just buying it. There's extreme pleasure in creating something beautiful out of your own imagination. Though, I can appreciate those who feel intimidated by arts and crafts, or if they consider themselves "non-crafty". This party is all about crafting as a simple and fun experience. To celebrate the birthday girl, guests are creating Alex and Ani inspired charm bracelets.
I covered a table with WallPops NuWallpaper and wrote the name of each guest in a frame.
To get started, each guest is given two bangles and a set of gemstone charms. They can create two for themselves or give one to the birthday girl. I set up a "jewelry bar" with cups containing extra charms and baubles for guests to get creative. There's no tools involved, just slipping on the desired pieces onto the bracelets.
Colored boxes with pretty bicycle tags serve as a place for guests to put their finished products. Then, every guest's favor is their personalized bracelet and a vintage compact mirror.
For decorations, you can make a festive banner using vintage inspired greeting cards like these by Valorie Fisher. Grab some twine and mini clothespins and voila! You can place others around the party table as well.
We found this quirky cocktail shaker and mini typewriter at Michaels. It's all about the little details!
