Get Kids Cooking

angie and nicole

This week we joined Angie Harmon to help champion

family cooking

. Uncle Ben's rices gathered the gorgeous actress and mom of three along with a raucous group of second graders for an afternoon of cooking and fun.

Selfish Mom, Amy Oztan rounded up the kids from a local school to help with the cooking demos led by Cricket Azima. The kids whipped up a sweet & sour rice loaded with bean and veggies and a tasty chicken stew with rice and zucchini (I had seconds). Angie entertained the kids while the cooking went down and encouraged all the young chefs to experiment and eat more veggies! She charmed the pants off everyone.

When Angie isn't filiming Rizzoli & Isles she loves hanging out in the kitchen with her kids. We asked her a speed round of questions:

Everything tastes better with (fill in the blank) _____________ WINE!

Salty or Sweet? Salty

Go to meal when you don't want to cook? Red Rocks restaurant in Charlotte.

Is the kitchen the hub of your house? Yes! The Island in our kitchen is definitely where everyone gathers.
