Bath time can be nerve-wracking. A weeks old infant is tiny and delicate--it's no surprise that most parents are extremely nervous at the prospect of bathing a little one the first few times. To gain some confidence before you start filling the tub, view the Mayo Clinic's slide show. Ready to suds up? Here's a quick list of what you'll need:
- Soft wash cloth
- Baby-friendly soap
- Baby Tub (I've linked to a Babble.com article listing the top 5)
Don't forget to add a few toys. A nice little extra is a rubber duckie. ($2.99) Through November 30, you can get a duckie and support the "Project Pink" breast cancer awareness campaign from Munchkin.
Munchkin is donating proceeds from the sales of their pink duckies to the Komen for the Cure campaign. Munchkin is also running a "decorate your duck" contest with lots of great prizes and auctioning off celebrity designed ducks on eBay to raise funds to fight breast cancer. I know I'll feel better adding a pink duck to my daughter's nightly routine with the hope that breast cancer will be a non-issue for her as she grows up.
