Last month I went to a "green" expo in New York city and I left with a dozen green cleaners to test. Eight of the eco-friendly cleaners didn't get the job done as well as Comet, Fantastic and other traditional cleaners. After trying them at all at home, I can report Method made the cut.

Method just received Cradle to Cradle certification on 20 products in their line. All Method cleaning products contain biodegradable ingredients derived from natural materials like soy, coconut and palm oils. And all CO2 emissions from employee commute and travel are offset with carbon credits. Pretty impressive. But will they keep the kitchen clean? You bet. And oh how I adore the hand soap they simply have the best fragrances (cucumber, lavender, green tea, ahhh).

CONTEST CLOSED

Method put together a bunch of my favorite products for a Momtrends "Eco-Kitchen Giveaway." One reader will win:

· Smarty Dish: Phosphate and bleach-free automatic dishwasher detergent. This is especially relevant as counties and states are starting to ban phosphates from detergents. They cause algae blooms to grown in the waterways, which steal oxygen from fish, causing them to die. Scary stuff. Buy on Amazon 20 ea ($6.99)

· Dish Soap: Beautiful bottle that you don'??t have to hide under the sink. Love the fresh fragrances (pink grapefruit for our winner) and an ultra-concentrated formula means a little goes a long way. Buy on Amazon case of 6 ($31.16)

· All Purpose Cleaning Spray: Completely nontoxic and gets the job done. Ideal for a quick sweep of all kitchen surfaces and appliances before a visit from the inlaws. Buy on Amazon case of 8 ($33.71)

· Hand Soap: Our iconic hand soap cleans your hands without causing dryness or irritation. Buy on Amazon case 6 ($23.14)
