About The Edible Garden:
A quick 20 minute ride on Metro-North from Grand Central Terminal, and easy to reach by car, subway, or bus, The New York Botanical Garden offers something for the entire Family. After you enjoy the festivities for the Family Harvest Weekend, stroll the cool and refreshing paths of the 50-acre Forest along the scenic Bronx River, stop and smell the roses in the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden, experience the serenity of the Rock Garden waterfall, and enjoy summer refreshments and lunch at one of our Cafes.
The Edible Garden exhibition celebrates growing and preparing good food. The Garden makes the connection of educating children about healthy eating and learning where your food comes from, first hand, while having fun. Digging in the vegetable garden, learning how flowers turn into fruits, and watching live cooking demonstrations is all part of the experience you’ll have at the Garden.
