Reviewing Dapple was easy--I use these baby-friendly, earth-friendly cleaning products 3x per day. It all started with an email a few months ago introducing me to the Dapple founders Tamar and Dana. Since we are all NYC moms we agreed to meet for lunch. The meeting was a gab-fest. We gushed about our kids and shared details of our businesses. At the end of the meeting, the Dapple ladies sent me off with a huge bag of goodies to try.
I've tested plenty of green cleaners, so I admit to not expecting much. Boy was I in for a surprise. First I tested the dish washing crystals. I've been using Cascade. The list of ingredients is horrifying (but it did get all the grime off the dishes) and I was wasting water to rinse everything before I gave it to the kids. With Dapple Dish Powder ($6.99 at Diapers.com) the bottles came out gleaming...and the dishes caked with couscous, cereal, etc. also looked perfect. I'm not alone. Diapers.com users have given it a perfect rating.
Dana and Tamar wisely invested their start-up money to hire a chemist and do loads of research about healthy green cleaning agents. They came up with a natural solution that is 100% phosphate, chlorine, and fragrance-free. What's left? Vegetable-based cleaners specifically chosen to remove fats, starch and milk soils.
Off to the sink for hand washing duty. This time I tried Dapple Dish Liquid. Once again brilliant results and a very subtle scent (lavender). What won't you find inside: SLES, parabens, phthalates and dyes. The Dish Liquid has award-winning green technology to target milk residue and baking soda to combat odor. All of the breast pump parts no longer had that milky film on them. I was delighted to trade in Seventh Generation for Dapple. (17 oz. $5.99 at Diapers.com)
