Build-A-Bear had a special event in NYC to celebrate the release of Jamia Nashs's new single "Lets' Talk About Love." In addition to meeting the lovely Jamia, my 4 year old got the chance to build her first bear. My girl was fairly patient as I chatted with other Mommy Bloggers (Katja and Onica), but then it was time for her to build an animal.
Let me just say there were TONS of tasteful, sweet bears. My princess-smitten daughter picked the gaudiest thing there--a sparkly pink unicorn. Ugh. She loved it immediately, named her Alysa and off we went to see Alysa get packed with fluff. My daughter loved picking out a heart to put inside her new pal. And then as a part of a special promotion ($29.99 for a bear, outift and shoes), we got to pick a dress and shoes for Alysa the unicorn: Pink tutu with butterfly wings and sparkly purple flip flops. Mind you, I worked in fashion for Ralph Lauren for seven years--it was tough not to steer her towards the preppier options. After the wardrobe, we got a birth certificated and cardboard box (her house) for Alysa and were on our way. While the unicorn may not meet my fashion standards, my daughter adores her. I totally get why this store is so popular.
Win It! I want to share the joy of this event with you my readers. So I am passing along a $50 Build-A-Bear gift card. To win, visit the Build-A-Bear site and tell me what you would make on your visit.
