It's no secret that Kristin and I are the coffee addicts on the team. We would hook ourselves up to an IV drip of espresso if we could. So it pretty much goes without saying that we are definitely celebrating National Coffee Day. It's our lifeline! I love that this holiday comes in the autumn. There are so many yummy recipes including pumpkin, peanut butter, and other delicious Fall inspired tastes. For those of you who also partake in the drinking of java and perhaps imbibe as well, these recipes will be right up your alley.
Peanut Butter: To me, it's perfectly natural to include a touch of peanut butter into my coffee. But for the less adventurous, start off with a frozen peanut butter cup. Put it right in your mug and
add coffee over top. It will melt slowly and provide a chocolatey finish to your brew. The peanut butter will be all the sweetness you'll need. No milk or sugar required!
Pumpkin Cocktail: This alcoholic take on coffee is perfectly autumnal and makes a delicious nightcap. The Organic Spiced Pumpkin Vodka blends seamlessly and you'll get hints of cinnamon and clove all inside one chicory, heavenly cup. Start off with half a shot--the vodka and caffeine are a certain jolt. Give yourself a bit more after the initial taste.
Classic Pumpkin Spice Latte:You could pay $5 for a certain other popular PSL, but I recently discovered Baileys Bourbon Vanilla Poundcake creamer and haven't looked back. Add this to a frother (I'm a Ninja Coffee Bar addict) and pour into your cup. Then give the top a touch of whipped cream with dashes of pumpkin pie spice and you'll be feeling caffeinated AND cozy. Leave a comment and let us know which coffee recipe is your favorite. Sip on! Happy National Coffee Day!
