Back in November, I got to spend time with Grammy Award Winner Miranda Lambert and learn more about the PEDIGREE Brand. I snapped this picture at the NYC cocktail reception where Miranda and PEDIGREE shared news about an amazing program that is kicking off today. It's all about pet adoption and it's a program with a big heart. I got a preview of the program and learned all about why this brand and this project are perfect for Miranda. The gorgeous country star gushed about her dogs and told a few of her personal adoption stories. She's got quite a brood she keeps in Oklahoma where she lives with her yummy husband Blake Shelton.
But I digress. The reason I got to meet Miranda wasn't to talk about her love life (it's good) or her career (ditto). It was to talk about her passion for dogs. Miranda has intentionally gone light on the sponsorship deals. She told me she's led by her heart not her wallet when it comes to endorsing brands. Miranda founded MuttNation to help fund and support animal shelters and and spread the word about adoption and has found her own pets through adoption. In fact, the size or her pack of adoptees is constantly growing with a few new ones added last year. Here's the scoop: Fans might have to wait a while for a country-royalty baby as Miranda focuses her love and effort on her furry babies for now.
It makes perfect sense that PEDIGREE® Brand and Miranda Lambert are kicking off the national search for the next communities to benefit from The PEDIGREE® Feeding Project. The The PEDIGREE® Feeding Project is an initiative started in Nashville and Chicago that supplies participating shelters with 100% of their core dog food needs, at absolutely no cost.
Here's how you can join in. You can visit Facebook.com/Pedigree to nominate the community where you think The PEDIGREE® Feeding Project can most make a difference in the lives of shelter dogs. In March, Miranda and the PEDIGREE® Brand will announce the names of the five communities that have been selected as finalists in the search.
America will then vote to determine the next communities to participate in The PEDIGREE® Feeding Project. The winning communities will be announced mid-2013.

Momtrends was not paid for this post. We are hosting a sponsored twitter party for Pedigree and we did get a goody bag at the November event.
