Minnie Driver Joins Children's Claritin to Help Communities in Need

Here at Momtrends we always love to hear about celebrities and brands joining forces to do good and we recently caught up with Academy Award nominated actresss Minnie Driver to talk about her advocacy of the partnership that CHILDREN’S CLARITIN® and the non-profit organization, KaBOOM!, have forged to help communities, and particularly children, in need. We were so excited to learn about how, together, they're providing play spaces, so every kid in the community has the opportunity to head outside and get the activity they need!

1. How did you get involved with Claritin?

As a mom, I like to work with groups that are helping and encouraging children, like Children’s Claritin. I’m helping them to spread the word about their partnership with national non-profit organization KaBOOM!, which helps kids get the active play they need by bringing innovative playspaces to communities in need.

2. What is the importance of having balanced and active play for kids?

I’m always outside with my son, Henry – whether we’re taking a walk about the neighborhood or surfing at the beach with family and friends. As a mom, I believe that kids need time to get outside, play and just be kids!

3. How can kids who suffer from allergies still enjoy the outdoors?

Children’s Claritin is non-drowsy for children’s worst indoor and outdoor allergy symptoms – one dose lasts the entire day, so kids can focus on their daily activities, not on allergies.

4. How can we help with KABOOM! and bringing playspaces to kids?

Every vote counts! All you have to do is visit the Vote for Play Program Facebook page before September 26, 2014 and vote for one of 12 finalist community organizations. The four communities with the most votes will receive Imagination Playground equipment – mobile play sets comprised of oversized, foam blocks that create an accessible, creative place for kids to play.
