Get ready all of you canine-lovers and musical fans. The new 101 Dalmatians Musicalhas hit Madison Square Garden theatre. Based on the beloved book by Dodie Smith (101 Dalmatians) the musical is a one-of-a kind adventure for the entire family about what it means to be a family.
Keeping true to the 1956 original novel, the story is told from the dog’s perspective. The actors are cleverly costumed in stilts to appear larger than the animal actors who are dressed in black-and-white spotted dog costumes. These doggy actors are certainly cute, but the real stars of the show are the fifteen Dalmatians, many of which were rescued from animal shelters. I got to meet one of these amazing doggy talents, Rascal the Dalmatian, and saw why Cruella De Vil kidnapped him!
The 101 Dalmatians Musical is traveling to major venues across the country. For tour and ticket information go to www.the101dalmatiansmusical.com.
