In Jennie's Kitchen

In jennie's kitchen review

Jennifer Perillo is bringing her love of scratch cooking to you with her new book Homemade with Love. I joined a few editor friends in Jennifer’s Brooklyn home for a launch party featuring a few of the recipes from her book.

The book tells the story of how Jennifer discovered cooking as a child. She started simple and has basically kept is simple over the years. The idea is that the best ingredients, plus a little TLC and you can give your family meals to feed their bellies and hearts. You can read our review of the book here.

I’m a huge fan of the family meal. We cook at home 4-5 nights a week and I am always on the hunt for new dishes to give the family and a few fancy things to share when I entertain. This book is brimming with recipe inspiration.

What a delicious way to celebrate the success of a friend. My select dish from the event is this fennel delight.

While I ate far too much, every bite was worth it. Jennie knows how to feed and nourish her family and friends and this rings true in her writing. As we dined and chatted, I also heard Jennie share the story of this journey. From blog to book. What an accomplishment. Hurrah for my friend! Buy the book here Homemade with Love: Simple Scratch Cooking from In Jennie's Kitchen on Amazon. It makes a wonderful Mother's Day gift!

And I also want to thank the fine folks at KitchenAid and Glad for sending Jennie on her book tour. It’s not easy to write a book, and it's even harder to write a book that makes you want to shop with care, slow down and really enjoy time in the kitchen. Thank you Jennie for this book and the reminders.
