The sights and sounds of the season are stunning here in NYC. Our holiday energy is hard to rival. And while my email inbox is filling up, I simply have to get out and about to enjoy this magical time of year. Highlights from the week include dressing up to attend the Brooklyn Kindergarten Society Ball. Momtrends purchased our first charity ad--I couldn't be prouder than to spend money to support families who want the best education system possible for their kids. BKS provides educational programs and support to the neediest neighborhoods in Brooklyn. If you're going to party, it might as well be for a great cause.

This wasn't my only chance to dress up, I also took my mom and the girls to tea at the Carlyle Hotel--see the full post here.

And the most inspiring event of the weekend--celebrating 50 years of Revelations. This is an incredibly moving modern ballet choreographed by the late Alvin Ailey. It was my 5 year old's first exposure to modern dance and she was hooked (find out more about the company at http://www.alvinailey.org/)

My advice? Use your time well this season. Let the emails and inboxes pile up a bit and head out to take advantage of the special offerings this time of year. Work will still be there on January 2nd. Memories won't.

Momtrends was not paid for this post. Please forgive us if we don't get to your emails right away--we're busy enjoying the season.
