Bethenny Frankel is not only the brains behind the Skinnygirlbrand that encompasses cocktails, fitness, and health products, but also she is a mom and author having penned four best-selling books. Her latest project, Cookie Meets Peanut, draws upon her own personal experiences concerning how her precious pooch and baby girl became friends after a not-so-perfect start, a challenge many first-time moms often encounter. Momtrends recently had a chance to catch up with Bethenny to get the inside scoop on how this delightful story came to be.
Transitioning from a best-selling writer of fiction and non-fiction to a children’s book author was a “delightfully frustrating” process for Bethenny as she learned the nuances of choosing pencil sketches to pair with snippets of storyline.
Through her collaboration with illustrator Daniel Roode, she was able to artfully convey her vision into a delightful children’s book available in stores and online now. To keep track of her numerous thoughts for the manuscript, Bethenny credits her Blackberry as her preferred writing tool. From conception to completion, the project took approximately one year to create.
As a child, Bethenny’s favorite go-to books included Eloise, Babar, Aesop’s Fables, and Winnie the Pooh. Like many moms, Bethenny struggles to find time to incorporate pleasure reading into her own busy schedule, but she makes it a priority to spend precious moments reading with Bryn. Turning off electronics in order to desensitize before bed is her secret for a restful night of sleep, something we all could use a little more of from time to time. Buy the book on Amazon.
As for Bethenny’s Skinnygirl product line, she shows no signs of slowing down. Her signature cocktails and wines have expanded to over 20 varieties and her new food products like hummus, popcorn, and dips are available nationwide. To learn more about Bethenny, please visit www.bethenny.com.
