Cookbooks are my guilty pleasure. I like to display them in my kitchen, give them as gifts, and even read them from cover to cover for some much needed culinary inspiration. With the holidays knocking on our doors, now is the best time to check out the new releases from some of the most popular celebrity chefs. So, roll up your sleeves, and pour yourself a glass of wine. It's time for moms (and dads) to get cooking!
I may not be Italian, but that doesn't mean I don't love Italian food. And, who better than Rachael Ray to teach us how to make a real Italian meal that the family will love. Everyone Is Italian on Sunday! is the latest release from our favorite television personality and Food Network chef. From crowd-pleasing dishes like spaghetti and meatballs to more complex creations like Pork Chops in the Style of Porchetta, Rachael includes a wide variety of recipes to please the most discerning of palates. Also included in the book are savory recipes for cocktails, soups, side dishes, and yummy desserts.
Giada de Laurentiis always seems to have a smile on her face. So naturally, it makes perfect sense that her new cookbook is titled Happy Cooking: Make Every Meal Count...Without Stressing Out. Mealtime is always hectic for us moms for we're either coming or going so it has to be quick. Leave it up to Giada to compile a 365-approach to cooking up a happy life with nutritional food. By sharing her wellness practices, she gives the reader an inside peek into her healthy lifestyle. Plus with nearly 200 new recipes including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, you'll be on your way to cooking sumptuous meals for your family and friends.
McDonald's believes that breakfast is a meal that should be served 24/7. Celebrity chef Bobby Flay couldn't agree more. His latest release Brunch @ Bobby's:140 Recipes for the Best Part of the Weekendis my kind of cookbook. Whenever my husband travels out of town, the meal my boys request most is breakfast. Whether you're cooking brunch, breakfast, or even dinner, check out this yummy cookbook filled with inspiring ideas like Pineapple Upside-Down Pancakes and Crab Cakes Benedict. Who doesn't like some jumbo lump crabmeat with their breakfast? As a Marylander, I certainly do!
One of my favorite chefs is Ree Drummond because she makes oh so good comfort food taste so yummy. Her recipes are easy to follow plus she uses ingredients that you find in most home cupboards. In her new release, The Pioneer Woman Cooks Dinnertime, she takes the guesswork out of meal prep by sharing comfort classics, freezer food, 16-minute meals, and other delicious recipes to solve the suppertime dilemma. What I especially like about her cookbooks are the step-by-step photos for each recipe. For visual learners, it makes preparing the dish even that simpler.
Of course, every good meal must end with dessert, right? Fellow Marylander Duff Goldman from Charm City Cakes is my favorite go-to expert for whipping up confectionery treats. In his new book Duff Bakes:Think and Bake Like a Pro at Home, he shares 130 mouth-watering recipes such as white chocolate blondies, apple streusel muffins, cereal bars, and bacon jalapeno biscuits. He also includes a re-make of childhood classics, like the Twinkie. With recipes for both novice and seasoned bakers, Duff will teach you how to create the most delicious home-baked goodies just in time for the holiday season.
