Every December, I get giddy with excitement over the holiday book releases. Who doesn't like a little romance mixed with holiday spirit? The problem for me, though, is I usually run out of time. The festive season comes and goes, but the stack of Christmas reads remains untouched on the corner of my desk...collecting dust. Not this year! I have found the perfect solution, short stories! With just the right amount of holiday cheer, these pint-sized downloadable reads will have you singing "Fa! La! La! La! La!" in no time.
At the top of my list of short story picks is A Midnight Clear by Hope Ramsay. This 95 page read will fill your heart with love for the true meaning of Christmas. Dr. Tom Crawford has just moved to Last Chance, South Carolina to start a two year assignment in a clinic. Local florist and single mom Teri Summers has her hands full raising her special needs son while prepping for the holiday season. The last thing on her list is falling in love. When the sexy, new doctor takes an interest in her son, Teri begins to wonder if she has finally found her Christmas miracle.
I'm a sucker for any book published by Gemma Halliday Publishing because the stories are light, entertaining, and always on point. The Blonde Before Christmas by Anna Snow is no exception. Even the title makes me chuckle. Private investigator Barb Jackson and her best friend take a quick shopping trip only to find a dead Santa Claus stashed under the mall Christmas tree. It's up to Barb to save Christmas before the killer ruins the town's holiday cheer. If you like this one, then check out her other releases Bubblegum Blonde (book #1) and Blondes' Night Out (short story in the "Killer Beach Reads" collection).
My next pick is Sleighed at Castle Rock by Anne Marie Stoddard. Even though this Amelia Grace Rock 'n' Roll Mysteries title takes place in July, its filled with holiday havoc. Bronwyn Sinclair, assistant to Castle Rock manager, Amelia Grace, is feeling the pressure for she is taking over her bosses' duties at the July music festival and Battle of the Bands competition. When someone slips mistletoe into one of the judge's drink, Bron's new assignment is to find the killer who's made his way to the top of Santa's naughty list.

Stylish Beach Accessories for a Day in the Sun, Sand, and Surf
I've been coveting this Eugenia Kim sun hat that's been all over Instagram for the past two months. With a wide-brim and the words "Do Not Disturb" embroidered on the front, it's the ideal accessory for a quiet day of reading on the beach. Built-in shade, some peaceful privacy, ...read more
My final pick is a sweet story set in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. One Christmas Wish by Sara Richardson will pull at your heartstrings. Julia Noble is tired of being overprotected by her family due to an accident from years ago. As soon as her brother's Christmas wedding is over, she plans on leaving town for good. That is until three days before the ceremony when she meets face to face with her childhood crush, Isaac Nash, who is fresh out of the Navy. Will she find her happily-ever-after with the one man she's always dreamed of marrying?
