We are very much in picnic mode around here.

Spring has sprung, and we’re making the most of it! Warmer temps, a subtle breeze, and beautiful blooms have us feeling positively giddy. We just want to go outside, run outside, play outside—even eat outside!

In addition to our recent weekend park trips, we’ve been hosting daily pretend picnics on our front lawn with the LeapFrog Shapes and Sharing Picnic Basket. It has quickly become one of my kids’ favorite toys!

Every morning—often when we're still in our pajamas—my son asks to bring our big blanket outside for an alfresco breakfast. Sometimes it’s all fake food, other times, we carry out our toast, fruit, cereal, and juice. (Rest assured, mama always brings her real coffee!)

While my toddler and I sip, munch, and chitchat, my 17 month old learns about shapes, colors, manners, and more. The LeapFrog basket features over 30 audio responses that encourage pretend play; and the 14-piece set includes items to mix, match, stack, empty, and fill—encouraging fine motor skills as well!

Of course, the toy's sweet signature melody and lyrics have ingrained themselves in our heads, and every time we go out we sing, "It's a great day for a picnic, with my friends... Indeed it is! Happy spring... and Happy Toy Tuesday!
