Before I had kids, I wore all sorts of jewelry. Heavy statement necklaces, cocktail rings, big glamorous baubles, impractical hoop earrings, stacked bangles, and pretty little luxuries of every kind.
But all that bling went out the door when I had my babies. It was impossible to wear intrusive accessories with an infant pulling on my ears and yanking on the shiny appendages conveniently hanging from my head. And so I retired my over-the-top collection in favor of simpler, minimalist designs... or, more often, nothing.
Now that my children are a bit older and less "aggressive," I've started adding a few more pieces to my jewelry box. But I no longer opt for over-the-top trinkets. Instead, I go for classic, modern styles that are versatile and wearable; appropriate for school pickup and date-night alike. My latest addition is this Nambé Twist Cuff Bracelet. It looks polished with a sweater and jeans and stunning with a dress. It's been the perfect everyday piece.
As a longtime fan of Nambé's timeless entertaining pieces, I was excited to discover that their jewelry is equally exceptional, just as well designed, and beautifully crafted. Made with 925 Sterling Silver with a tarnish-resistant finish, some pieces feature precious stones, like Smokey Quartz and Mother of Pearl, and others have black leather accents. Designed by Carolyn Pollack with sculptural shape-driven inspiration, Nambé Jewelry is meant to be an everyday work of wearable art. As a busy mom, I often neglect my sense of style. I'll throw on a tee and jeans and call it a day. But one cool cuff or ring or pendant can instantly and effortlessly up the ante.
And so this holiday season, I'm asking the other jolly big guy (my husband, hehe!) for something pretty and practical. These are my favorite present picks from Nambé. They can easily be worked into an existing jewelry collection, mixed, matched, dressed up or down, and even stacked.
Nambé Jewelry is available at Macy's, Nambé stores, and at Nambé.com.
