It's not often that I break routine—especially when it comes to bedtime. I like to stick to a plan for my three year old and that usually involves dinner, wind-down time, PJs, reading, and then some quiet mommy-and-me chitchat before... zzzz (well, hopefully). But last night, I broke all the rules and brought my excited toddler to a VIP event in NYC, where he was allowed (nay, encouraged!) to stay up and play with the likes of Katie Holmes, Camila Alves, and Maggie Gyllenhaal!
The exclusive A-list event celebrated the launch of Target's new Pillowfort collection. Highline Stages was decked out with the charming, whimsical, and absolutely adorable line of children's decor.

My son and I got to hide in nature-inspired tents, have pillow fights in astronaut beds, share mini corn-dogs and chocolate milk on a bench swing, and even draw on the wallpaper. There were lots of arts-and-crafts stations to keep the kiddies engaged and entertained, and adult beverages to keep the grownups cool and smiling.
We had a blast spotting celebrities, browsing the collection, and, yes, throwing the "night-night" countdown clock out window! Plus, my little guy left with three adorable new animal pillows from the Pillowfort collection—so when he finally did fall asleep, bedtime was cozier and cuter than ever!
We've rounded up a few of our favorite Pillowfort "scenes" for your browsing pleasure. The Pillowfort experience at New York's Highline Stages (441 W. 41st Street) is now open to the public through March 6 (hours: today, 1 PM to 7 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 6 PM.) Enjoy!
