If you're anything like me, your face has probably started to show the signs of too much sun exposure. Even if you didn't grow up in the Florida sunshine, the fact is, your skin is exposed to the sun every single time you walk out of the house... all year long. So, unless you've been extremely diligent about protecting it from the get go, you probably have some sun damaged skin that you would like to take care of. That's why I'm here! I'm in the same boat. Although, I've been pretty careful with my skin, it's not like I've lived my life inside, so I have some dark spots, fine lines and what-not that I've been focusing on too. Thankfully, there are products out there that can help you repair that sun damaged skin! So, let's talk about a few of those...
How to Repair Sun Damaged Skin
Moisturizer with benefits...Moisturizer is something you should be using every single day. Not only does it hydrate your skin, which gives you a more youthful appearance, but if you use one with an SPF, you can protect your skin against further damage. Okay, okay. That's pretty common sense right? Most of us use a moisturizer with a built in SPF these days, but are you using one with ingredients that can tackle your current sun damage too? Take the MD Sun Repair Moisturizer for instance. It contains antioxidants, Vitamin C and alpha lipoic acid that work together to help repair your skin!
Mask that damage... If you've read my beauty columns before you know that I eat, sleep and breathe face masks. They're a vital part of my skincare arsenal and the MD Sun Super-Brightening Mask is one of my latest obsessions. Sheet masks are a hot new trend and I can see why. Thanks to the easy to apply bio-cellulose material, this mask easily penetrates your skin to fight hyperpigmentation and deliver a brighter complexion! *Tip...Take care as you apply it. As you can see, I got a bit of hair caught in mine. And don't try to drink anything with this baby on. Give yourself at least 20 minutes away from your trusty cup of coffee. Or wine depending on what time of day it is. Haha!
Nourish from the inside out... It doesn't hurt to add a supplement to your skincare routine too. While I definitely suggest tackling sun damage at the surface, by taking something like the organic Molecule32 Nourish Ultra Fulvic supplement, you can work from the inside out as well. It can help detoxify and increase antioxidant protection of your skin. So, if you want to go a step beyond the typical anti-aging products to help tackle sun damaged skin issues, this is worth a try!
