P&G Product Testing

The heat is on--smart moms are armed with the best beauty products to keep them fresh and beautiful. P&G has a summer beauty campaign in the works and we've been testing the tools they've got to keep us looking fab this summer.

First up--Olay Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer. We try to never leave the house without sunscreen. But oh how we hate the kabuki-looking makeup and the clogged pores. So we're willing to give anything a try. Olay's face cream is billed as "a non-greasy lightweight moisturizer." Yep, it was anything by greasy--in fact we found it a bit drying. We added a layer of our Mama Mia moisturizer and had much better results.

Dr. Doris Day says '??If you'??re outside playing sports, swimming, or gardening, you need an SPF of at least 30.'? We agree, but we think you need a base layer to make this product work. Suggested retail price is $13.49. Not sure if this makes sense--is there a better combined product out there?

We've also been trying Secret's first antiperspirant/deodorant that effectively fights wetness AND provides naturally derived odor protection '?? Secret Natural Mineral. This new product uses calcium carbonate to help neutralize odor. There are three new options--Eucalyptus Blossom, Lemongrass Mint and Unscented. Lemongrass is our favorite.

The scents are sophisticated and such a relief to the powdery scents on the market. Calcium carbonate, helps to activate empty odor fighting capsules to helps neutralize odor versus masking them. The odor fighting capsules utilize Febreze'??s '??Smart Technology'? to keep the odors in check. Ok we're game. If it keeps the carpet fresh, it might just work on our underarms. Suggested price $4.29.
