I'm a nosey Parker. If someone is talking nearby about a product that made their skin smooth, their hair bounce or their lips pout, I slowly...begin...to...lean...over and stealthily get all up in their business. Quietly of course. Never intrusive. Achem. Loud is not my style. #yeahright
It’s a lot easier when products win actual awards. It’s also not as embarrassing for me. This is why I love when items step out of the shadows and into the winner’s circle. Call me a lazy nosey Parker, but I like when someone does the work for me.
So when Vogue magazine said that Philip B’s Peppermint and Avocado Volumizing and Clarifying shampoo can give me the hair of a heroine in a romance novel, I lathered up. Then I called my book club and requested we read A Knight In Shining Armour by Jude Deveraux. You know, just in case I was coiffed up to do some role playing.
This shampoo offers a deep clean (perfect for getting all that styling product and SPF spray out of your hair) to leave it bouncy and gleaming. And the crisp active dose of 2.3% pure Peppermint Oil invigorates your scalp (I still felt it for an hour after the shower), along with 16 pure plant extracts and 10 other essential and carrier oils. The formula also works as a local anesthetic to soothe tension and stimulate circulation - which oddly enough sorta reads like a romance novel's sensual moment between two lovers. Um. Yeah.
The Peppermint and Avocado shampoo is available for $20 at philipb.com.

And since I’m always trying to get the most out of my beauty sleep (why does this post reference the bedroom so often?...hmmm....), I was happy to try outGlytone Anti-aging Night Cream. It was, after all, recently named “Best Night Cream” in 2013 by SELF magazine.
This is the only skincare line that provides formulas with the highest free acid value of glycolic acids available. It boasts a 5% free glycolic acid level, along with a 2% peptide complex. Working together, these "free" your skin of fine lines and wrinkles by activating its natural repair process. It also has Red Tea Flavonoids to wake up your cells.
The thin fragrance-free cream smooths on very easily and doesn't weigh you down. But make no mistake - it pulls some heavy duty by going deep within the skin’s surface with antioxidant protection and anti-aging benefits. Nighty night.
The entire Glytone line is available at dermatologist offices and skin care centers.
