We are so excited for some downtime thanks to Labor Day. Personally, I have a wedding so I have been laying off the makeup in prep for the special day and using products from Avalon Organics. This starts with using their Lavender Luminosity - Facial Cleansing Milk that works as an exfoliator as it calms the skin. After that I love their Vitamin C RenewalTM - Balancing Toner that is great to energize the skin as well as eliminate free radical damage and then their CoQ10 Repair - Wrinkle Defense Crème that provides my skin with moisture without feeling greasy. Other products in their line we love any time of the year include the CoQ10 Repair - Ultimate Firming Body Lotion, OLIVE & GRAPE SEED Bath & Shower Gel and their ALOE Unscented Moisturizing Cream Shave that provides a smooth and close shave.
With the wedding a few days away, I have also been researching makeup trends and discovered some tips from celebrity make-up artist and CEO of Starlooks, Marci Star. Check out her tips for achieving the perfect smoky eye this weekend or for a fun fall makeup look.
1. Start with a white based nude eye, using Starlooks "Milky Way" Infinity Pot Liner as a long-wear eyeshadow base. Apply all over eye lid to the brow. This creates a nice silky, shiny sheen under your eyeshadow for an amazing summer glow.
2. Next, build the perfect nude eye with Starlooks Shadows: "Real White" on the lid, "Lacey Number" under the brow on the highlight of the brow bone, and "Peachy Sheen" in the crease.
3. Now, create an awesome stark black eyeliner line on the top lid with the fantastically pigmented "Precision Eye Pen" and also, line the bottom inside waterline and outside bottom lashes with "Obsidian" Kohl Eye Pencil, and soften with a "Small Precision" pencil brush for the perfect smokey addition!
4. With a light white eye like this, make sure to add a little color to the cheeks and lips. If you prefer to stay Patriotic, red is the perfect complimentary tone. Use a Starlooks light rouge blush in the color "Rose" and a light, sheer gloss in the color "Saucy!"
