Painting tiny toes is a reward for good behavior in the Momtrends household. The girls love having colorful digits (I try to skip the nails I'm afraid the polish will get ingested by accident). Hopscotch Kids is a new brand and a mom start up that we've tested and approve.
It's non-toxic and water-based. Take a wiff. You won't inhale the smelly chemicals that most nail polishes contain. Hopscotch Kids is free of toluene, dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde, nitrocellulose, butyl and ethyl acetates, acetone, FD&C, coal tar and other nasties. The colors (11 in all) are bold and splashy. Not too sophisticated--think playful. Here's a sample color name Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater. How cute!
Bottles start at $12.99 and get cheaper if you buy in multiples. We're also big fans of the non-toxic nail polish remover ($9.99).
And no, the polish won't last as long as Essie or OPI, But who cares? Everything is dreamed up with kids in mind. Founding mom Ginny Cardenas has made it her mission to create the safest, most playful cosmetic line for kids on the market. She succeeded. Let's keep the chemicals off our kids and out of the environment.
