BarePro Powder Foundation Review

Don't you love when your skin feels naked and clean yet has a lovely finish? That's what you get with the new BarePro Performance Foundation from bareMinerals. The skincare experts at bareMinerals have engineered a foundation that gives me 12 hours of coverage without looking heavy or sitting in my fine lines.

I started testing this product last July when they sent me a sample. I used it non-stop thru November and then found it wasn't moisturizing enough for the winter. I switched back to the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue I had been using during the winter (it's more moisturizing). But now that spring is here, I've switched back to this powder formula and I'm ready to share my thoughts.

It's really easy to use and if you don't love playing with makeup, you can't overdo this. It's a "cake-free foundation" that won't look overdone. Yet you get a nice full coverage and like all things bareMinerals it's formulated with 90% vitamins and minerals.

Pick from 30 "true-to-you" colors, to match your skin. To apply, they recommend the bareMinerals BAREPRO Core Coverage Brush ($30), but I think you can apply it with just about any dense foundation brush. The bareMinerals BAREPRO Core Coverage Brush is retractable and works well--but I prefer an even longer handle. With your favorite brush, sweep the product onto your face and then start with a light dusting. Layer on a bit more for more coverage.

I'm wearing just the foundation and mascara in this shot. I feel like my skin shines through--the mark of a good product. As always, I test everything we talk about. In fact, I sat on this review for months. As time went on, I liked this product more and more. Get the scoop in my review video:

Note the two downsides: One, if you have dry skin, this may not be for you. Two, there is no SPF in this product. You'll need to use a moisturizer with SPF in if before you apply this product.

BAREPRO Performance Base Powder is $30 and is available at bareMinerals and you can buy it here at Sephora.
