I've been actively testing Avon's Ideal Flawless BB Beauty Balm Cream ($10--coming soon). First, I had to educate myself. According to Sephora, a beauty balm or BB cream, is supposed to do four things:
1. Prep your skin for makeup
3. Protect your skin from nasties in the environment
4. Give you coverage over discoloration
From my research, I found that BB cream can stand for a few things--blemish balm, blemish base, beauty balm. I'm sticking with beauty balm. I've never tested a BB before so when Avon sent this along I was intrigued. I've been hearing a lot about them from beauty bloggers.
Next, it was time to test. When I was in London traveling, I swiped on this product and gave it a whirl. I had to limite my liquids in my carry-on only luggage plan. I needed a skin product that could do more than one thing. Avon packed the cream with vitamin E and antioxidants and the best part--SPF15. When I get ready in the morning I often have 5 minutes tops, to put on makeup. Multi-tasking products are best for busy women. With this product, I got a smooth, even complexion and gave my self protection from the sun. It covered the small discolorations on my face and gave me a fresh look.
Avon says it also minimizes redness (which I don't get). But you can see above, I felt confident to go out in BB cream and not much else.
Ideal Flawless BB Beauty Balm Cream will be available in mid-May at http://shop.avon.com and with your local rep.
I am an Avon Blog Ambassador. As such, Avon pays me to write a monthly post about the brand. They send along a monthly goody box for me to peruse and test. I'm never scripted.
