I have what I call combination hair. Those of you with combination skin know exactly what I'm talking about. Your skin is dry in one spot, oily in another. My hair is has the same type of thing going on. It's now part course, and part fine. My once jungle of a mane, is partially overgrown and partially flat. It's crazy, you guys! I've found that more and more my regrowth is fine in texture than course like it used to be. So, while volumizing products used to not be on my radar as much, they sure are now. After thirty some years with loads of volume, mama's not ready to give that up! So, let's talk about how to add hair volume to your life...
I recently came across a few products that I'm loving for adding volume. First, we have shampoo and conditioner. Have you tried the Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Natural Origin hair care line? It was new to me, until recently, and, I have to say, I'm loving it. You might think that you need a ton of unnatural substances in your hair care products to achieve the volume that you're after, but that's not the case! The R.A.W. Uplift Shampoo for flat, fine hair is of 71% natural origin and the Uplift Conditioner is 95%. Plus, they're both paraben free! So, the moral of the story here is you don't have to sacrifice volume for more natural product use. As you can see, my hair isn't exactly flat. Haha! I simply washed, conditioned and gave my damp tresses a little scrunch to achieve those volume filled waves.
And another way to add volume to hair is with the Mixed Chicks Morning After Redefining Foam. I don't know about you, but I am not keen on washing my hair every single day. One, it dries my hair out and, two, it's just not convenient. Daily washing is much easier when I'm rockin' straight styles, but being that I go with my natural waves more often than I get blowouts, I needed a fix for that next day hair. With this product, I can reinvigorate my waves and walk out the door with fresh volume even on days I don't wash!
