Getting around with a little one sounds like a daunting task to some, to me, it's going to be a reality. We will also be traveling frequently as most of our family lives out-of-town. Baby gear abounds and there are some things this traveling just can't be without-whether day trips, errands or a weekend getaway, we've got you're on the go traveling essentials covered.
Chicco: A play yard is a travel essential for a young baby. Chicco's lullaby playard. To make lifting a newborn in and out of the play yard, a detachable infant insert or bassinet makes all the difference. I love how the Chicco insert is elevated perfect for lifting and checking in on baby with ease. While home it is great as a versatile, all in one piece that we have set up in our spare bedroom. Complete with changing station (it stows compactly on the side of the play yard-genious!), plenty of storage and a newborn bassinet, the Chicco Lullaby playard is perfect for both naps, and play for home or travel.
Infantino:What I first thought was a little excessive and unnecessary, a shopping cart cover had to be one item that I felt like I couldn't be without. Using a shopping cart cover like the adorable ones from Infantino, not only protects baby from the harsh, uncomfy metal or plastic seats of the shopping cart, it is a germ deflector. The machine washable cover pops in the cart or over a restaurant high chair and instantly is a clean, familiar surface.
JJ Cole: For the perfect snuggly bunting, I love the JJ Cole Urban Bundle Me. The all new urban inspired Bundle Me comes in a wide variety of chic colors, with cozy quilting and all the warmth and protection you're little one needs while out and about. I love that it is compatible with every type of infant car seat, has a zipper top that comes off if you just want to use the bottom portion and it is machine washable. Perfect for joggers, strollers as well as car seats for all of your travel needs.
Joovy: Family owned Joovy has an innovative universal sibling board that converts almost any stroller to one that is a ride for two. We love our Zoom 360 and don't want to give up using the jogger we know and love but we also need to think of the needs of our middle child. The Bumprider is perfect for children 2-5, up to 45 lbs., is easy to adjust without tools while ensuring a secure, smooth ride. The platform has a non-slip surface, adjustable arms (length, height and width) and quick-release clamps help with easy attach /detach making it perfect for travel, near and far. We have tried it on 3 different strollers and found that it works well with all of them, turning 3 strollers into 6 in minutes!
As most of our family lives a distance away, we travel frequently or host family gatherings at our home. We try to make the sleeping arrangements as comfy as possible but with hard wood floors, it can be a challenge. An air mattress is really not ideal for little ones. We found a perfect solution in Joovy's affordable foocot. Not only does is it compact (folds up so easily!), it is comfortable, lightweight and is a great place for kids to nap, sleep or just chill out. It holds up to 75 lbs. making it a great option for all of our child visitors, and the foocot stows so easily we can throw it in the trunk when traveling. Our kids love the indoor camp feeling, and we love that the kids are off the floor, comfortable and no longer have to worry about their "beds" deflating in the middle of the night (not fun!).

Prince Lionheart:Keeping a car neat when you have three little kids seems like a challenge. Thanks to Prince Lionheart's over the seat organizer, this mama will keep everything in its place and have a place for everything. A place to easily corral toys, crayons, diapers, wipes, sippy cups, extra snacks, tissues and anything else that might otherwise sit in a bag (or roll under my seat!). With plenty of compartments of all different sizes, and closures, the organizer is just right to fit the needs of my growing family in one convenient spot without taking up precious cargo space! and for keeping an eye on your little one (they remain rear facing for two years now!), Prince Lionheart makes a baby view mirror that securely attaches to your car's interior, is non slip and enables you to clearly see what your lil babe is up to. It comes equipped with two carabiners for optional toy attachment.
7 AM Enfant:Nothing makes a day on the go more hectic that an unorganized, heavy diaper bag. The versatility of the lightweight Barcelona bag from 7 AM enfant makes it a top choice for this mama. The water repellant outer coating, dual front magnetic closing pockets as well as large over the shoulder handles makes this bag ideal for a day around town without the bulk. The bag is super light when empty (I have noticed this is not the case most times) and has enough room for what you need but doesn't allow for overpacking all that you dont!!) Equipped with a key holder, deep inner pockets, a changing pad, adjustable stroller straps and I love when I unzipper it, I have full access to the whole inside of the bag, no more digging! The 7 AM enfant Barcelona comes in 18 colors and has a sleek, urban cool appeal for use for your baby's needs and beyond.
Also new to the scene is the 7AM Enfant B212 Evolution. Suitable for the toughest weather conditions all while keeping your babe toasty and dry. It is a bunting beyond all buntings that can go from stroller, to car seat and even converts to a large blanket (I LOVE this unique feature!) Available in six colors in a bold chevron pattern.
Skip Hop: You can always count on Skip Hop's adorable ZOO line for the cutest accessories for baby and child alike. With roomy, rolling luggage your little one will be eager to pack as well as pull his/her animal friend along (one less thing for you to transport!). It encourages independence, keeps all of their belongings nice and neat and is lightweight, yet has sturdy wheels making it easy for little hands to manipulate. The matching travel neckrest pillow and Zoo travel blanket make travel comfy, cozy and more secure for your little one. Available in various animal friends, you little one will be sure to find one that is just right.
Skip Hop has a great new diaper bag, the Chelsea. If you're looking for a chic, sophisticated and stylish diaper bag that will take you from trips around town to an overnight excursion, the Chelsea has all that you need. Skip Hop has always been one of the "go to" names in affordable, functional and oh so practical diaper bags. But the Chelsea gives is no ordinary diaper bag, with its sleek black exterior, fold down flap for a second look, outer pockets, and unobtrusive look, it is a bag that can easily be carried from playdate to a nighttime dinner, for both baby's needs as well as yours. The Chelsea (17l x 6.5w x 12h, in.) features a mix of faux leather and lightweight durable fabric, clip on stroller straps, 12 pockets, including four interior, dual straps to wear over the arm or shoulder and is BPA and phthalate free.
Stokke Scoot: We have a Stokke Xplory as far as strollers go, it has it all. Our only complaint is that it can be a bit bulky for quick traveling transitions. The folks over at Stokke get mamas like me because they introduced the Stokke Scoot which is a luxury compact stroller. The Scoot is more easy to fold and unfold one-handed, fits well in tight spaces , including trucks, and is lightweight- is great for a mom that has her hands full. With the same great quality you'd expect from a Stokke product like sturdy lockable, swivel wheels, easy maneuverability, great washable! textiles and an unbeatable, ventilated sun shade, the Scoot is a travel essential. I love the Scoot for just how close it brings you to baby, how Baby can sit, or recline in four different positions and that it holds a child up to 50 lbs. The Scoot doubles as a high chair while out and about and has a sizable storage basket to hold all of your goods. The basket folds with the stroller so you don't have to detach anything before stowing the Scoot. The one step brake, safety indicators and five point harness add reassurance for any parent while the ergonomic, comfy seat provides a smooth, cradling ride for child. With mosquito and rain shield included, the Stokke Scoot is a versatile, compact, lightweight stroller that doesn't skimp on features, function or design. To beat the bitter cold NY winters, I love the foot muff, it's a bunting that is perfect for any weather Mother Nature throws our way. The unique footed design allows baby to wiggle as needed, will keep baby cozy, warm and compatible with the Scoot.
