I have fondness in my heart for summer babies because I happen to have two. My lil' lady bean and dude were born in June and July, respectively, and I remember how tricky it was to dress them when they were newborns. I didn't want them to chill, but I didn't want them to get too hot either.
I found that the key was to look for clothing and swaddle blankets in lightweight natural fibers, so even if baby is wearing long sleeves and pants, she won't overheat. Seeing as we're in the middle of summer, I figured now would be the time to share some organic baby brands that I've recently become enamored with. A newborn's skin is so delicate, it just makes sense to be to clothe them in soft, lightweight, chemical free fabric.

Burt's Bees has longtime been a favorite of mine for organic personal care products, so I was elated when they came out with their Burt's Bees Baby clothing and accessories line! The pieces range from classic neutrals to vibrant prints like their watercolor dragonfly. Everything is made from 100% organic cotton.
I'm also loving the gorgeous prints from Kate Quinn Organics. Their kimono type bodysuits would make diaper changes a breeze and you can just pop on some pants or leggings to make a complete outfit. My summer babies lounged around the house in kimono bodysuits more often than not. And the Kate Quinn gowns are just darling too. Even if you don't have summer babies of your own, these pieces would all make fabulous gifts!
