Scoop on Pacifiers

Pacifiers are something almost every baby will use from birth. There are many uses for a pacifier such as soothing a fussy baby. Some babies are happiest when they're sucking on something. A pacifier offers temporary distraction and might come in handy during doctors visits or car rides. Some paci's might help your baby fall asleep. If your baby has trouble settling down, a pacifier might do the trick. They also might ease discomfort during flights. Babies can't "pop" their ears like we can by swallowing or yawning to relieve ear pain caused by air pressure changes.

Lastly, pacifiers might help reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), researchers have found an association between pacifier use during sleep and a reduced risk.

There are so many different pacifiers out there to choose from. Momtrends scoped out a bunch for you, and here are our favorites.

1. Wubbanub - The 2 in 1 pacifier is made of medical grade silicone and BPA free. The soft plush portion provides comfort to the touch and makes it much easier for the baby’s little hands to grasp and manipulate the pacifier themselves. Which means fewer bouncing, rolling and lost pacifiers.
