Feeding Plans for Baby

Image placeholder title

Figuring out the what, where and when of feeding baby can mystify new parents. I found a handy feeding plan from Parenting Magazine. Their Daily Baby Feeding Plan makes it quick and easy to know how and when to integrate solids into baby's world. They also gave a list of 13 great first finger foods in the May issue:

  1. banana slices
  2. avocado slices
  3. cooked peas
  4. small, peeled peach chunks
  5. shredded, cooked chicken
  6. Cheerios
  7. cooked lentils
  8. macaroni or other cut-up cooked pasta
  9. cooked carrot slices
  10. small tofu cubes
  11. soft tortilla pieces
  12. cheese slices
  13. small bites of low-mercury fish, such as tilapia

Ready to go? Not so fast. Don't make the rookie mistake of being unprepared for the ensuing mess. You'll need some accessories to save your floor and kitchen from complete demolition. I like the Kiddopotamus Bibbity Rinse And Roll Bib (2 for $11.99). It doesn't require laundering after every use and it catches the crumbs and drips from baby's feeding sessions. If you've got a carpet or delicate floors, I also recommend a Children's Mexican Oilcloth Reversible Splat Mat.This is a sizable (48 x 48) piece of easy-clean cloth that goes under the high chair to catch the run-off. $48
