I know, I know…Most of you still have over a month of summer yet and here I am about to talk about fall beauty trends. Well, here in my neck o’ the woods, we start school in a mere week. And, frankly, as soon as back to school season ramps up, I’m thinking about fall fashion and beauty. Don’t get me wrong…I have fun with my look all year long, but there is something about fall that’s particularly special in this girl’s opinion. And there is one fall beauty trend that I am all over this year. Matte lips are back and better than ever baby! They graced the runways of the likes of Marc Jacobs and I can tell you I was fully inspired to try this lip trend out again for myself. It’s been a while since I rocked a matte lip, but when one of my favorite brands came out with their own version, I knew it was time!
You may remember when I waxed poetic about the fiber brow product from Cherry Blooms. Well, their Matte Lips Volumizer is just as awesome and the perfect way to try out the matte lip trend! Not only does it deliver a perfect matte finish, but it plumps up your lips too! It’s perfect for us girls on the other side of thirty as well, thanks to the textured power fillers that help fill in fine lines. Yep, this lippy makes you look younger as well. Hello miracle worker!
Now as much as I love matte lips, there is one thing that will ruin the look and that’s dehydrated lips. If you’re chapped at all, you’re going to want to take care of things before you attempt matte lips. I recommend exfoliating your pout with either a nice DIY scrub or you can even use a little balm and a towel or toothbrush to slough off that dead skin! Two of my go-to balms of late have been the classic Rosebud Salve pot and the Moroccan Magic Organic Argan Infused Lip Balm stick. Both provide ultra moisturization and will have those lips ready for your matte lipstick in no time! Get ready for serious softness people.
I’m sure you’d like to see this lip trend I’m raving about in action, so I’ll be sure to wear my Matte Lips Volumizer, in a delightful neutral shade called Natural, in one of my upcoming outfit posts, so you can see exactly what I’m talking about, but in the meantime, trust me when I say that this is a matte lip product that you’re going to want to try out for yourself. Think about how cute you’ll look sipping your pumpkin spice latte with on trend matte lips, Just sayin’. Haha!
