How to Pamper Yourself This Summer

Summer is coming mamas. The kids’ last day of school is nearly upon us and it’s about to get…very…real…around here! Sure, you may have set them up with camps already and it’s possible your calendar is fleshed out, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy street. As much as I love summer, it comes with its share of stress. I try not to over schedule my kiddos during the summertime because they’re at the mercy of our family calendar during the school year. So, while I do have some camps and activities set up, I also built in some serious downtime…for them…not me. Bwah! Their downtime means I have to come up with plenty o’ fun ways to keep them entertained, not to mention keep up with my work and did I tell you we’re selling our house? I’m clearly a glutton for punishment. Haha! And I bet I’m not the only one. So, let’s talk about how to pamper yourself this summer…

1. Take a bath…I know, I know. It sounds cliché, but a good soak in a not-hot bath could be just what you need to melt away the day’s stress. It certainly always makes this girl feel better and it’s the first thing I think of when someone says to pamper yourself! You get bonus points if you add a luxurious smelling bath bomb to the mix. 2.Take a power nap. When is the last time you took a nap? Before this weekend I couldn’t have told you. Thanks to some back pain I was forced to lie down a couple days ago and, before I knew it, I had fallen fast asleep. Remember when you were a careless twenty-something who could nap whenever you wanted? Me either. Ha! Seriously, though if you can carve out at least twenty minutes for a quick siesta, your body will thank you. And why not use a nice de-puffing eye mask while you’re snoozing?

3. Take a deep breath…If you don’t have the time that my first two suggestions require, can you give yourself at least a fiver perhaps? Seriously. You deserve this. It’s time for a little aromatherapy action. Grab some lavender oil and get ready for its calming effects to take over. Surely you can spare a few moments for that? I won’t take no for an answer. Come on pamper yourself!
