When summer draws near do you like to lighten up your look? Perhaps you’re into deep, saturated lip colors when it’s colder out, but summer’s warmer temps makes you want to try something more subtle on for size? Well, then one of this season’s hottest beauty trends is for you. And what hot new beauty trends am I speaking about you ask? Well, it’s lip oil of course. Lip oil has found its way into some of our favorite makeup lines, including both affordable and luxury brands. Not only does this trend allow you to sport a sleek, subtle wash of color, but it treats your lips too. And all us busy mamas love a good multi-purpose product…Am I right?
So, considering summer will be here before we know it, I thought would round up a few of the lip oils that I’ve had the pleasure of trying out recently. Whether you just want a bit of shine or a teeny pop of color with your treatment oil, I’ve got you covered with my top picks from e.l.f. and Clarins!
First up, let’s talk color. e.l.f. Tinted Lip Oil does just want hit sounds like it does. It gives you the hydrating benefits of lip oil paired with little punch o’ color. I’m partial to the Berry Kiss and Coral Kiss shades myself. They make it look like you just ate a popsicle. And while the Berry Kiss looks super dark in the tube, it’s not. It’s a grape(ish) hue that was made for summer if that make sense. Bwah!
Next, we have more treatment than color to chat about, but, frankly, at least two of these lip oils do leave a bit of pigment behind. Clarins Instant Light Comfort Oil packs a serious punch. Not only do these handy dandy little oils moisturize your lips, but they give you the sheen of a lip gloss AND they contain menthol which will give you a little plumping action! Score! I’m particularly loving the Honey Glam (hello sparkle), Mint (so fresh) and Candy (a perfect punchy pink) versions.
