With my third child coming in September, I am excited to get our nursery together and get ready for life as a family of 5! As I have been preparing, I have also been learning about the latest baby products. Here are some new favorites that I am excited to use come September.
For baby bath care needs, we have been loving the gentle collection of products from Everyday. One of our favorites is the Everyday Coconut Shampoo & Body Wash for Babies. Featured as the Whole Foods Market Supplier of Year Award Winner – dedication to responsible sourcing, this light and non-irritating everyday shampoo and body wash contains featuring a moisturizing blend of Certified Fair-Trade virgin coconut oil and coconut water. It is also great for baby skin thanks to its inclusion of calming yarrow and chamomile are also added to this gentle formula. Another favorite is the Everyday Coconut Hair and Body Lotion for Babies & Up, a blend made with Certified Fair-Trade coconut oil, calming yarrow and chamomile. I love how mild this formula is as it leaves babies hair and skin silky soft. All of the products can be found at Whole Foods Market.
To get a list of everything you need for baby together, we love BabyList, a universal baby registry service. BabyList works similar to Pinterest where expectant parents can add items from any store into one registry. This also includes adding in handmade items like fun and unique items from Etsy, an eco-friendly diaper service, local meal delivery, dog-walking or even babysitting.Parents can also add traditional items to their wish-list such as a carrier, stroller, books, or décor from popular national retailers including Land of Nod, Target, Babies R Us, Serena and Lily and more. Another fun aspect is their registry check list where they feature a fun quiz so that you can easily figure out what you need and have it handy where you can print out the list. They also allow you to see ‘inspiration baby registries’ and sample registries to inspire your own list. They also recently offered a registry completion discount with retail partners like Diapers.com, Giggle, and more where you can receive a one-time 10% discount on your unpurchased registry items from select retailers.
Safety and security is critical when you become a parent. To stay safe while your baby naps, sleeps or plays in their crib or room, we love the peace of mind they will get when using the new Samsung SmartCam HD PRO, a Wi-Fi IP surveillance camera with real-time video and audio monitoring. With this incredible camera, you can actually watch and monitor your children away from your home thanks to its 1080p full HD video recording with a 128 degree ultra-wide angle lens and a video feed that is accessible through a website or mobile device via an iOS or via your iPhone®, iPad®, or Android™ smartphone or tablet. This makes it easy to check up on your baby or children when you are traveling, at work, or simply aren’t at home. My favorite feature is that it can be customized where you get instant alerts to motion and audio events so you won’t miss any milestones in your baby’s life. Additional features include a 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor (allows users to see intricate details in dark lighting), a Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) lens (eliminates motion blur which produces clearer images), Samsung Light Enhancer (SLE) technology (allows users to detect movement in low light) and an advanced motion and audio detection (provides users with fewer false alarms).
I loved making my own baby food. This time around I am going to be more organized about it by using the Baby Food Jar Organizer, a fun system that stores up to 16 jars of baby food. This includes a stackable system that is also adjustable as it grows with your child and their cup changes where you can go from bottle to sippy cup to adult water bottles. Made by PRK™ Products, the units are all BPA and phthalate free and they feature four different rows allow you to sort by type including plastic square food, homemade food containers, condiments, 1-serve fruits and other small canned goods.
Tragically, we’ve all heard stories about parents accidentally leaving their children strapped in a car sear in hot summer months. According to researchers at San Francisco State University, last year 43 children died from heat stroke after being left in a hot car. To better protect our babies, we are checking out ChildMinder SoftClip ,a lifesaving alert system can help caregivers remember. The small, clip-on device beeps for 8 seconds if the adult has moved more than 15 feet away from a child in his/her car seat. It’s a two-part device. Adults clip a small unit on the child’s safety seat, seat belt. The alerting unit fits on the driver’s key ring. It’s easy to install and is spill proof and is sold in three colors, white, blue and pink.
