Syncing Your Style: Best Diaper Bags

Now that I am moving back from hobo to diaper bag, I don’t want to have to give up on expressing my style. That being said, my diaper bag needs to be big on function, organization and comfort. I am going to be the mama of three little ones and although, the time around I’ll only have one in diapers, I know I will need to keep everyone’s goods in one neat, easy to reach spot.

These are my top choices in stylish, and functional diaper bags:

The Backpack baby bag is part of the new line from Vera Bradley baby. Featuring zip-down front detachable changing pad, with a large mesh pouch for diapers and wipes,  two side pleated outside pockets as well as a front slip pocket, this preppy diaper bag Backpack comes in many cheery floral prints that are signature to Vera Bradley.

For moms that love to be hands free, want to organized but not too fussy, this spacious, comfortable and ergonomically correct backpack from Vera Bradley is the diaper bag for you.

I love this canvas diaper bag from Pottery Barn. It is classic, roomy and is built to hold all you need for your darling bundle. Appropriately named the Classic Diaper Bag, this bag has contrast handles and leather trim, is made from cotton twill and has an easy to clean nylon lining. Featuring interior zipper and double elastic pockets to store everyday items, dual outside bottle pockets, a matching changing pad as well as detachable shoulder strap and handles. It has the “feet” underneath to keep it steady on flat surfaces and I adore the fact that it can be personalized on the cheap! The Pottery Barn Classic Diaper Bag comes in six colors and is the epitome of relaxed, sophisticated style.

Some Moms might not want to tote everything around and prefer to pack the essentials in a convenient Quick Zip carry-all from Pish Posh Mommy. The carry-all sack holds all your baby item essentials in a neat and organized manner. Simply zip it up and drop it into your favorite handbag and off you go. This is a great option for the working mama too, as you can keep your and baby’s things separate so at drop all you have to do is pull out the conveniently organized carry-all in one quick step. It boasts 7 outside pockets (various sizes) and on the inside there’s 1 large pocket for diapers and wipes, 2 smaller pockets, 1 secure zipped pocket as well as 2 elastic pockets to hold bottles/cups.

Another option is the stylish diaper clutch, also from Pish Posh Mommy. It’s large enough just for the essentials:wipes and diapers. This option works best for disposable diapers as cloth diapers are a bit too bulky to fit in the under arm clutch. It conveniently fits inside the Quick Zip-Carry All too! The best part? when you’re not toting baby this diaper clutch is the perfect accessory for a night on the town or a day out with the girls.

If you’re looking for sleek design, organization and a diaper bag that screams city chic, look no further than the Sashay-Central-Park-North-Stop Satchel by Petunia Pickle Bottom.  This embossed, long-handled satchel features a spacious middle section with key fob, dual side pockets, security zippered pocket as well as a place to neatly stow your wipe case, changing pad (both included) as well as other necessary essentials. Sashay-Central-Park-North-Stop also has a front and rear pocket. The front pocket features magnetic closure and a small additional pouch to keep smaller items wrangled. The back is perfect for a swaddle wrap, extra outfit and even fits an iPad. I love how it stands on its own with a wipeable bottom (goodbye germs!). The best part of this beautifully crafted satchel? it easily converts to a backpack, perfect for keeping this mama on the go from feeling clumsy and weighed down. The luxe Petunia Pickle Bottom Sashay-Central-Park-North-Stop Satchel comes in six colors.

The Sophia by Timi and Leslie is a uber chic, spacious, and multi-functional diaper bag. It looks like a purse but this a mega diaper bag. This fun bag features dual exterior pockets, three roomy inside compartments, as well as six organizational pockets. The Sophia diaper bag is perfect for a mama of multiple children or to keep your stuff separate from baby’s. The matching stroller straps make this workhorse of a diaper bag easy to bring along even when every inch of it is filled. The Sophia can be worn as a cross body or carried as a satchel but it is quite large so may get a bit heavy if fully stocked. I love that it transitions easily to a carry- all purse without a hint of its dual identity. Equipped with bottle bag, changing pad, chic clutch and oodles of room, the Sophia by Timi and Leslie is perfect for long outings, eliminates the need for multiple bags and is a functional as it is fashionable.

Carter’s is a brand known for all things baby and this stylish diaper bag is no exception. The Carter’s Out ‘n About diaper Tote has zippered hidden storage, four exterior pockets to hold essentials, keep rummaging to a minimum and give you quick access to the items you’ll reach for most. I love the black and white printed changing pad, interior, easy-to-see mesh slip pocket and both zippered and open pockets to keep any busy parent stocked, organized and ready for anything. For parents looking for a unisex, sporty and easy to use diaper bag, Boken Essentials has a few great options. For those looking for a more traditional bag type diaper bag, the Every Day diaper bag will suit your style. The Boken Essentials Every Day diaper bag is lightweight (only 13 oz.) and comes in six bright colors and can be worn as a tote, or carried messenger and backpack style. It features a large inner mesh pocket complete with zip pocket and a large changing pad. On the outside you’ll find pockets for bottles and water bottle, as well as 2 front easy access pockets for personal items. I love that it wipes clean, has a streamlined utilitarian modern look and folds into a small zip pouch for easy storage and traveling! The Boken Essentials Every Day diaper bag is also baby-wearing friendly because wearing the bag as a backpack distributes weight evenly to reduce back strain.

Boken also offers a hip pack for those looking for a simple grab and go essentials pack. I think it is perfect for camping, hiking or when you take baby on the bike trails. It neatly and compactly fits all the essentials and is adjustable to fit any caregiver. The lightweight Boken hip pack is offered in three bright colors.

Sadly, I’m totally lacking in the diaper bag department. I’m using the same diaper bag I got with my first baby…and it looks pretty hammered. Also, I hate it. Hehehe. I only got it because I needed something asap and it was the only decent sized bag the store had. I would buy one in an instant but I dread the sideways glance that I know my husband would give me if I got the one I really want. :) Anyway, I pinned it in hopes that I can talk myself into a purchase.

My hubby has already been eyeing the things I am storing for the new babe. We did donate our diaper bag to a family in need after a major storm SO I do NEED one-There are SO many functional, stylish and fun ones out there. if you need a push over the shopping edge, I am there! ;)

  • Hanan – Lilac City Momma

  • Angela

  • SippyCupMom

Great collection! I have the Skip Hop for my twins. The classic is so nice looking!

    • michelle

I’m sure moms/parents of twins would be glad to know that the skip hop is big enough & organized for 2 littles!

  • Becca

I love how the newer diaper bags are so stylish! I wasn’t luck enough to have that when my boys were little!

    • michelle

Right? I love that so many are. Versatile and that you’ll use them after baby is out of diapers!

  • Jessica @FoundtheMarbles

There are so many more amazing options than there were when my kids were babies. I’m liking that Pottery Barn one a lot! My husband used to love this Diaper Dude bag too!

    • michelle

I never heard if the diaper dude! My hubby wants neutral & unisex and prefers a backpack or simple hip pack for hiking etc.

  • Jackie

So many cute choices! My favorites are the ones that don’t look like diaper bags and can be used even when you no longer need one.

    • michelle

I totally agree! Versatile& long lasting!

  • xpressmom

I perfectly agree with Jackie. It is indeed very important to have one that can easily serve as a purse just in case you need to be light as you move along , One of my favorite ones is Babymel Amanda

I have an odd obsession with diaper bags! My favorites have always been Petunia Picklebottom, Coach and Vera Bradley. I’ve always had big diaper bags for the triplets, so I needed easy convenience that had a lot of storage space….but of course still looked cool! I didn’t want to be the one carrying the yellow ducky plastic bag :)
