Swimsuits that Fit and Flatter

swimsuit confidence week

Do you have a swimsuit that flatters you? Now is the time to shop for a suit that makes you look and feel fabulous. Memorial Day weekend is upon us and I have taken the plunge. Yes, it’s a bit bold to post a swim picture, but it’s all a part of National Swimsuit Confidence Week.

For the past few years, Lands’ End has sent suits out to women and challenged them to slip on a suit, pose and feel great in just a few bits of fabric. Since I’m all about empowerment, I joined the fray. Don’t be the woman hiding out in the shade while everyone else is having fun in the water. Find a great suit and go for it.

I’m wearing the Shape & Enhance Dot Surplice Tankini Top ($99) in Black Shadow Dots.  Let me tell you, this top is a secret weapon. Thanks to the “exclusive technology” my boobs have been lifted back to where they were before kids and my waist has been nipped in. The suit is structured, but not stiff and constricting. The rouching (or all-over shirring) takes off inches.

On the bottom I’ve got the Regular Shape & Enhance Bikini Bottom ($49). It’s a great basic bottom, that doesn’t ride up.

I love tankini styling. When I want to get exposure on my tummy, I can. When I want to be more covered, I can do that too. They are sexy and also work for water sports. Just a versatile, flattering style. Yes, I still have some bikinis that get some pool time, but a sleek suit like this invariably is my go-to suit. How about you? What are you wearing to the beach this weekend?

Monday-Mingle-Banner111

Monday Mingle is a fashionable collaboration between me, Jill from Glamamom and Kristin from BonBonRoseGirls. Each week we post about our personal style and then invite our friends to join in the fun.  Everyone is invited! Today I am hosting. And that means…swag to share!

Win it! One lucky winner is going to score a bag of Avon Sun products. I’ve been testing the new sun line and can’t wait to share them with one lucky reader.  The Avon Face with SPF 40 is amazing and the new Sun + Sunscreen spray offers SPF 25 and will even spray upside down. You all are going to love these skincare products!

This suit looks great on you. I am just starting my hunt for a new suit and there’s a shop that does customized suits that I am planning to check out. Just curious does this tankini create a big bubble when you are in the water? I avoid tankinis for that reason, it drives me nuts.

Great suit! I have no doubt you’d look amazing in anything, but this sounds like a winner for those of us with more to camouflage. I love my Lands’ End bathing suits – they are such great quality and cute to boot.

    • momtrends

Thanks Kate. We all have our issues. Fortunately LE has a solution for most of them.

  • You look awesome in that suit. I’ve lost a bunch of weight since last summer so I need to get a new one myself. You’d think I’d be excited about this, but I’m so not.

    • momtrends

Shop at home. I hate trying on swimsuits at stores. Ugh.

  • Cute bathing suit, Nicole! I need to get a new one piece this year!

    • momtrends

They have good 1-pcs too, but I have a long torso and they tend to ride up on me, so I love a tankini.

  • Oh boy do I ever need a flattering swimsuit this year!! Love the dots 🙂

    • momtrends

Sarah, you would love the suits in the “structure section”–that’s where I shopped. It’s all about getting the pieces back in the right spots after the baby shift.

  • Hey leggy beauty!!! Such a classy/cute bathing suit! You look gorgeous in it! Hope you are having a wonderful day!

You look great! You are so bold! Go girl!

    • momtrends

Seriously. Sometimes I think I have lost my mind.

  • First off, you look awesome! My biggest problem is full coverage on the bottom, without it riding up. These bottoms look perfect.

    • momtrends

The bottoms are great. That’s why I shared the back-view. I don’t like creepage one bit.

  • Sexy lady! Love it!

    • momtrends

Definitely putting it all out there this week!

  • Alicia @MommyDelicious

HOTTIE!!! You look amazing in that suit, as usual!

Alicia, I do believe there is a great suit for almost everyone. It’s all about the hunt.

  • Love your swimsuit as much as your well-toned figure.

    • momtrends

Pilates and a lot of rouching. Good combo.

  • Carly

You look AWESOME girl! Of course you have swimsuit confidence…I believe it or not, USUALLY do…but only 8 months post baby I am DREADING getting in a suit again…about to order my FIRST FULL PIECE EVER from Speigel..we shall see….

    • momtrends

8 months–don’t be hard on yourself and also look for ruching. It’s a new mom’s best friend.

  • You look amazing!! I need a good suit. I have quite a few, but none of them are perfect…

    http://havebreakfastwithtiffany.blogspot.com/

    • momtrends

Yeah, that was my problem too. I have to purge some of the old ones.

  • Carrie Teal

You look great. I think if you feel good in a suit and have confidence that can help make a suit flattering.

    xoxo,
    Carrie

    • momtrends

      You are so right!

  • I would KILL to look like you in a swimsuit! Lands’ End does a great job with their mix and match suits. Love the dots!

    • momtrends

I think the separates idea is genius. We come in so many shapes and sizes.

  • Have to admit, I have never tried Lands’ End, though one woman I know swears by their suits. Will have to browse online!

I love the vintage-style swimsuits that have been so popular over the past few years… especially because my tiny bikini days are behind me!

    • momtrends

I agree the glam vintage suits deserve another day in the sun (ha!)

  • Love your swimsuit! I love swimwear shopping, too, and I think more women should be confident to strut your body. Haha!:) Joined the linkup, by the way!

    • momtrends

Welcome. And I think swim shopping should be done at home!

  • Ann

That is one great swimsuit! Perfect in all ways. You look great!
