Hello lovelies! Welcome to the very first edition of Trendy Thursday! Each week I’ll be right here at Momtrends dishing on the latest and greatest fashion trends. For my first featured trend, I’ve decided to go with a spring 2013 fashion trend favorite of mine…leather. Leather was ALL over the spring 2013 runways of designers like Fendi, Alexander Wang, Tibi, Miu Miu and many more.
This girl, for one, can’t wait to infuse even more leather, well…more likely vegan leather, into her wardrobe! Although, I do love to add a bit of edge to my looks, I’m equally obsessed with girly pieces, which I think are so much more fun when they’re paired with something a bit tough like leather. Even if you’re weary of rockin’ leather yourself, I guarantee there is a piece or two out there that will make you feel fabulous! Trust me…Just a touch of leather can make a BIG impact on a look. Plus, leather transitions beautifully. You can wear it this winter and right on in to spring.
A leather skirt, for instance, doesn’t have to be uber tight. We don’t all have Tina Turner kinda stems right? There are some gorgeous leather skirts with a bit more flow to them that are much more forgiving. I don’t know about you, but I’m still working on slimming down my post baby curves, so forgiving is a magical word to me. Haha! A flouncy leather skirt and chambray shirt would make for a darling outfit.
If you’re really brave, leather shorts are all kinds of hot! If it’s still cold in your neck o’ the words, simply layer them with a boxy top over tights. I live in Tampa and we’re already having 80-degree days, so spring fashion is definitely on my mind. My tights have been put away for next year. Please don’t hate me northerners. I’ll be jealous of you come May when it’s sweltering here and still lovely where you live!
So, what do you think? Do you plan on giving leather some play?!?
