Angelina Ballerina The Very Merry Holiday Musical

Last weekend, my family and I kicked-off the holiday season by checking out a production of Angelina Ballerina The Very Merry Holiday Musical. Based on the much-loved characters created by Katherine Holabird, this musical, with book by Susan DiLallo (of Fancy Nancy The Musical) and music by Ben Morss, follows Angelina and her friends as they plan a show for all of the members of Mouseland! Although not everything goes as smoothly as planned, Angelina and her friends (Alice, Gracie, AZ, Marco and Angelina’s little sister, Polly) work together as they also learn all about the true meaning of the holidays as well as about friendship and creativity. I also loved the messaging of how Angelina learned to appreciate her younger sister, Polly as Angelina learns to trust her and lets her help with the show.

Throughout the show, I also loved the dynamic of the friends and their different personalities as well as how important dancing is to each of them and how important the show is for them.

Both of my girls loved the performance where I saw my baby mesmorized by the singing and dancing and my older daughter bopping along in her seat. Held at the Vital Theater, the performance is intimate enough that every seat provides a great view and involves audience members at the end of the performance where everyone can dance on the stage with the cast.

A magical and fun show for kids of all ages, Angelina Ballerina The Very Merry Holiday Musical is a wonderful performance to get everyone into the holiday spirit
