Night School with Lands’ End and Momtrends

To end the exictement of BlogHer Momtrends and Lands’ End hosted a school-themed event with a focus on fun fashions for back to school. Guests arrived to EZStudios via a classic yellow bus where they were given a report card to go through various experiences as they learned all about pants, backpacks, first day of school looks, options for healthy lunches, dresses, plus size fashions and more – all while learning about the latest looks from this iconic brand.

Held on three floors, guests had to go through the various “courses” (Pants 101, Design Your First Day, Dress Test, Hair School, Backpack Philosophy, etc) and learn everything about their latests styles to the science of their pants in order to receive an A+ for a fun prize at the end.

As a signature Momtrends event this also included some pampering thanks to the hair geniuses from Warren Tricomi and makeup touch-ups using products from Revlon. Guests also learned new techniques and checked out Revlon’s new Root Erase product line and ColorStay makeup before getting a glam shot that they can upload at home to use for their own blogs.

As part of Night School, guests also had some nutrition lessons with Chef Sam Talbot (Top Chef) who shared some healthy an easy recipe ideas with guacamole, peanut butter and jelly, and grilled fruit. The recipes were standard, but Sam mixed them up with making simple changes like adding blueberries into a peanut butter sandwich or almonds into guacamole – delish!

Happy Family was also at the event and showcased their delicious line of kid, toddler and baby snacks including their HappyTot Plus line and new kid snack line featuring freeze-dried carrots, yogurt, apple and sunflower. We were also excited to hear that they will be launching a line for everyone (including adults!) with a line of squeezable smoothies, coconut milk, carmel apple treats and fruit and veggie twists.

For the Lands’ End fashion courses, guests had the chance to go at their pace as they learned about the company’s backpacks, jeans, dresses and looks for back to school. Backpacks from Lands’ End are not only stylish they adhere to weight safety standards where guets learned all about the perfect sized backpack for their child’s height and weight. Trends for the fall included bright and colorful characters as well as the option to monogram with colorful symbols and fun colors.

For jeans Lands’ End, taught our guests all about science of durable they are thanks to their new Invisible IronKnee patches. Through this system Land’s End creates an invisible seamless polyester knee patch that is placed into their jeans. They are then washed over 50 times and even tested by kids – so their pants are amazingly-strong and last (despite how much use your kids use them.)

For back to school, the kids’ collection includes bright and vibrant skirts with corduroy, vibrant and playful jeans, a-line dresses and striped tights for girls and cute graphic t-shirts, hoodie vests and sturdy boots for boys.

For moms, the fashions were on-point with a collection of holiday wrap dresses in classic colors like black, purple and navy and fitted pants and classic cardigans. There was also a station where guests could learn all about their plus-size line with mom, blogger and plus-size advocate Brittany Gibbons as she went over the hot looks for fall including floral tunics, boot-cut pants and lightweight cardigans.

An interactive evening at school, Momtrends and Lands’ End created a unique experience where guests could learn more about this brand while also having fun and enjoying the last day of this busy conference.
