Lakeshore Learning

With just a few weeks left until school, many moms find themselves camp-free and looking for ways to get their  kids engaged in brain building activities. Now that the programs are winding down that have kept the kids busy this summer, it’s up to mom or dad to fill the days.

Lakeshore Learning to the rescue. This store has long been a resource for preschools and teachers, now parents have easy access to learning tools, crafts supplies, and games that can get you through the dog days of summer. The Ring Toss shown above is sturdy and a perfect outdoor counting game.  This is an example of the colorful, well-made designs coming from Lakeshore.

The site is set up so you can shop by age, by activity–there’s even a section with lesson plans and activity guides. For those who aren’t totally tapped into the craft projects, might I suggest the Summer Vacation Project I found on the site.

I admit to being craft challenged, but I loved the Tape Center ($59.95). Seriously, who can resist a rainbow of tape! When we set up our indoor art galleries, we frame them with this colorful tape.

To get my 4 year old to practice her math skills, we play the Strawberry Game ($29.95). It’s all about collecting and counting–in a colorful way. And I’m going to be honest, the berries often get repurposed into the tea party after the game is over.

Whether you are refreshing the home schooling supplies or filling in the gaps of summer, Lakeshore has excellent school supplies for kids in preschool & elementary school. Visit http://www.lakeshorelearning.com/home/home.jsp

Momtrends was not paid for this post. We did get supplies for review.
