While traveling for work is fun, it also means a whirlwind couple of days on-the-go. Don’t get me wrong; I love it but at the end of the day there is nothing that I look forward to more than stretching out on a big comfortable bed where I can catch up on work, call my kids or just enjoy the luxury of vegging out all my myself.
During my recent trip to Los Angeles to cover the world premiere of Brave, I experienced my first blogger press trip complete with movie screenings, celebrity interviews, and later on a trip to Disneyland. In-between activities and when sleep actually happened, we rested at the Hilton Garden Inn in Los Angeles. Located in the heart of Hollywood, this branch of the Hilton Garden Inn chain includes modern accommodations like king-sized beds from Serta Perfect Sleeper, two phones featuring voicemail, HD TVs, a refrigerator, a coffeemaker and little things that I love like soaps and shampoos from Neutrogena and that a USA Today was delivered to my door every morning.
When I wasn’t in the room, I had the chance to scope out the facility and loved there was a fitness center, a pool, and a whirlpool to de-stress. The hotel also has an impressive business center where guests can use their complimentary printing services or simply do work with their high speed Internet. Since I was away during the work week, I still had some projects to complete, so I really appreciated just how fast their services are. I also loved the snack options 24-hour Pavilion Pantry® Market where I was able to stock up on waters and treats for my room as well as small toiletries.
When traveling I always think about the food and whether it is going to stack up to what I enjoy at home. The main restaurant at the Inn is Great American Grill, a cute eatery that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had some of our meals off-site, but I did get to enjoy a buffet-style breakfast and room service during my stay. As a big breakfast person, I really loved the diverse food offerings for my AM meal that included fresh Lox, a cereal bar, waffles, bagels, fresh fruit, omelets and all the juice, coffee or tea you could ever want. There is also high-chairs for families and a cozy Pavilion Lounge with a full bar for a drink at the end of the day.
I loved the interior and design of the building that was filled with comfy orange seats, a modern swirly orange and red carpet, a bold light in the lobby and art and sculptures located throughout the building. There was even a Whoppi Goldberg wax figure to greet guests as they entered the facility.
As exciting as the Brave trip was, it was nice to relax and decompress in both comfort and style thanks to the host of amenities from the Hilton Garden Inn.
