Don’t you love a good party? I dressed up last week to attend a symphony benefit in NYC. I trotted out my favorite pair of Manolos (purchased 5 years ago at 75% off) and a classic Ralph Lauren dress.
I shot these photos on my roof as the sun was on the way down over the East River. Then we had to hit the streets to get some better light for my shoes to show up. The cream colored Vespa was a bonus–found on the streets of Brooklyn.
I’m showing off my latest bag–the Newbury from Lauren (it’s $298 on zappos). Which fits so well with my lady-like theme. I adore the pebbly leather and the golden taupe color.
Not much is new in this outfit–the bag was making a debut, everything else has been styled and shown off before. You’ve likely seen me in this Stella & Dot Sofia Pearl Bib Necklace ($118)–but I can’t help myself with adding it to outfits. But isn’t that the beauty of a wardrobe? It has the ability to seem fresh and inspired as the years go by.
I do love my labels, but I’m not a slave to them. It is worth noting, the items I spend a bundle on TEND to stand the test of time. That’s not to say I don’t love a well-priced trendy piece.
I’ll stand by my classics and spend a little more on timeless pieces that won’t bore me at the end of a season. How about you? Do you shop only trends or do you make investments?
