Adventure and our family go hand in hand. Both our kidlets had passports at age 3mos. We simply love and live for travel. We often get inspired by friends, family, books and of course websites. Now we’ve got a new place to dream, plan and plot–PreferredFamily.com.
Started by the Preferred Hotel Group, the site gives parents the inside scoop on 250 top international destinations all carefully selected for families. A few weeks ago I went to the launch luncheon at the Trump International Hotel & Tower New York on the UWS of Manhattan. This hotel is one of the properties and truly boasts exceptional service. At the event I met some of the members of the Ueberroth family (the founders) and were walked through the website.
Each of the hotels has to go through an approval process to be deemed family friendly. The evaluate each hotel based upon age-specific needs and break down the recommendations by the following: 0-2, 3-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-17. Perfect, because we all know that what appeals to a 15-year-old boy will not invariably delight a 4-year-old girl.
Now we’re in planning mode for a trip to Asia. We used the site to come up with some travel plans. In fact, were looking at booking through the site in Turkey, Malaysia and even Singapore.
I liked scanning the map of the world and clicking on properties–it’s easy to use and easy to dream big. We’re drooling over the Gayana Eco Resort and with a few clicks we found out all that is available.
