I’m doing a bit of home redecorating. My first stop was my home office. Because if working mama isn’t organized, no one is organized. I shlepped to the only place for inexpensive put-together-yourself office storage–a certain Swedish company that shall remain nameless. By the time I was done trying to assemble the bookcase I bought, this company became a true four-letter work. But this one didn’t start with I.

This is precisely why my intro to Way Basics came at a great time.  I just got the storage cube, but they have an entire line of products that are..dare I say it…way basic—bookcases, storage benches, tables and stools. Basic in that it doesn’t require an engineering degree to get good solid end results.

The cube came in four sturdy pieces with a hard backing. It was so easy to put together with industrial strength 3M tape and pegs that my 4yo was even happy to help (something I usually reserve for DIY design, but not for furniture projects). We peeled. We stuck. We were done.  To her delight, it even came with a paper airplane. No idea why, but nice touch, people.

I’m using mine for files, but you can use them for night table books, kid’s toys, CDs, whatever.

It’s no Ethan Allen, but I think that might be a good thing. These products are made of 99% post consumer recycled paper that are just as strong as conventional furniture. I don’t plan on sitting on my cube, but it seems to be holding up just fine against my pounds of papers.
