Fall fashion with Ann Taylor

It’??s hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. We’??ll be sad to see summer go, but are looking forward to all the fashion choices that come with cooler weather, including chunky sweaters and fun jackets.

A few weeks ago we were invited to attend the opening of the brand new Ann Taylor concept store at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, NY. We’??ve always been a fan of Ann Taylor, and this brand has gone through a major transition over the last several years. The dresses, shoes, and sweaters on display were chic and hip, yet still classy. We immediately fell in love with the bright, airy store and bevy of exciting fashion choices. The shoes, in particular, were unlike anything we had seen in the past. Flattering platforms and colors spanned as far as the eye could see. These are shoes that can function for work and a night out.

Fashion expert Lucy Sykes was on hand to offer tips and tricks for maximizing your fall style. Sporting Ann Taylor’??s classic trench (updated with a sleeveless twist), Sykes looked gorgeous. She pointed out Ann Taylor’??s incorporation of skins, such as (faux) alligator and leopard, and suggested pairing these with something more neutral for an expensive look on the cheap. She said that she loved Ann’??s use of bright colors in many items throughout the current collection, and urged us not to shy away from a vibrant look. In her opinion, you can always pair something like orange with a neutral to avoid looking too ‘??overdone’?. She also talked about Ann’??s use of ‘??colorblocking’?, another good way to incorporate color into everyday style.

We loved visiting this (gorgeous!) new store, and seeing everything Ann Taylor has to offer for the upcoming fall season. We can’??t wait to get started on our fall shopping!
