Animals make an appealing design theme for a variety of ages. These colorful safari critters from P’Kolino work just as well in a nursery as they do in a 1st grader’s room. We’ve been fans of this brand for years. J.B., one of the founders, is a regular at trade shows and we admire the brand’s slow, steady rise in the world of kiddie-chic design. The P’kolino Pkolino Giraffe Book Case (shown; $149) is just one example of furniture that both tots and design snobs can appreciate.

Most of the Safari line is crafted from fiber board with a wood veneer. The construction is sturdy without being clunky. We think these P’kolino P’kolino Safari Wall Hooks ($34.99) would be ideal near a bath or entrance way to let kids feel self-sufficient and mom feel organized.

Our last pick is for all the pint-sized Picasso’s--P’kolino’s Elephant Wall Easel ($44.99). Hang on a wall (not too high) and hook up a roll of white paper and let your child’s imagination run wild. We’d love to see this near the kitchen to keep the kiddo busy during meal prep.
